One of my loyal customers is in town and needed some red velvet cupcakes for her sister in-law's graduation. Well she loves Nightmare Before Christmas so Jo thought it would be a great idea to have them decorated in that theme.
Jo thank you for being such a loyal customer when you are in in the Phoenix area ;)
I am hoping that she loves her cupcakes!
Wow, those look INCREDIBLE, AND RED VELVET??? My FAVORITE. I was so excited when I saw this post. I will be dressing up as Sally from the NightBefore Christmas and I think these cupcakes will go perfectly with my costume. Do you think by any chance you could help me with the recipe and steps on how to achieve these cupcakes? I would be forever grateful, thank you in advance!
ReplyDeleteOh not a problem Veronica. Well for starters you will need to get white fondant and cut them out into circles for your base. For the yellow circles you can either dye them or get premade yellow fondant and cut them out into circles as well. I had pre-printed pictures and then what I did was put the picture on top of the fondant and I used a fondant tool to press down so that it would go through the paper and make an outline for me. I then remove the paper and then get my pre-made purple icing and begin to trace the lines and fill in. If you have great drawgng skills you can eliminate the tracing part. Very simple. I find that it takes less time to decorate when you have your icing made and dyed first.
