Single red rose w/ black polka dots...and scissors!

This beauty of a  cake was custom made for a hairstylist. The black polka dots represented the color that everybody was to wear at the party, and the single red rose to represent the color the birthday girl would be wearing. She was to stand out against the rest of the crowd. The scissors....well to represent her profession of course! I wanted the cake to stand out so of course I added edible glitter throught the entire cake. It was hard to see due to the photos I took with my phone but all of the polka dots were covered in black edible glitter and looked amazing!

My blank canvass
This is after the cake was decorated with all of the glittered up polka dots!
After I added all the goodies on top
Tried to get a good angle shot so you could see the glitter
Here are some pictures from the party:
Stephanie I hope your sister enjoyed the cake you ordered for her!
Thank you!

Pa pa pa poker cake.....

Ok so my cousin's boyfriends birthday was on Saturday and his sister wanted a poker themed birthady cake to celebrate his 26th party. There were so many options but wanted to keep it a bit on the simple side. This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling.
I will be adding more pictures once they come in from the party!

Hot pink and black zebra print cake

So my cousin Natalie was attending an 80's party this past weekend and the birthday girl wanted a cake to mach the decor which was hot pink and black zebra print. I am still waiting for some pictures to add to show how it blended in well with the decor, but untill then you can view it as it sat on my table :)
It was a red velvet caske with cream cheese filling and covered in vanilla butter cream frosting and vanilla fondant!
Here are some more pictures! I love how the cake blended in well with the decor :)
Thank you!

Flower pot cake

For those of you wondering: No I havent' mastered sculpting cakes yet. Surprisingly I did not need to do that for this cake. Some instructions did say I needed to but I found that I didn't have to!
This cake was made for Jason. It was his grandmothers birthday this past weekend and he wanted to give her a cake that looked like a flower pot filled with flowers. The cake was German Chocolate and filled with a  chopped coconut, pecan filling. It was covered in vanilla butter cream and vanilla fondant and I used grounded oreo cookies to make the soil on top of the pot. All of the flowers were made of gum paste. The only non edible part of the cake was the grass.
This was how it looked prior to me putting the flowers and the grass in:

And this is how it looked once completed:
Jason thank you for ordering!
I was glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed the cake :)

Can you hear me now? Verizon cake

You are probably wondering why I made this cake. Well because Julius and his store were having a potluck today and he asked me to make a cake for the store. Yes, a Verizon cake! When he asked me I looked at him like he was crazy! How could I say no right? The inside of the cake is red velvet with a cream cheese filling just in case you were wondering.

Rainbow cake

Marie when you came to me with this order I wanted to take it to a different level. Not only did I want there to be a rainbow on the outside for decoration as well as muti-colored gumballs as a border, but I also wanted to dress it up on the inside as well.
Christian I hope you enjoyed your birthday cake!!!

Betsey Johnson inspired cake

Joyce I love the design you had for the cake you wanted me to make. Glad I was able to pull it off.
This cake was inspired by Betsey Johnson earrings. Gold Hearts and rhinestones along the border. It was a devils chocolate cake w/chocolate chips and filled with a strawberry filling.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday Joyce, and thank you for ordering.
